Every summer VESL (charity number 1117908) sends UK volunteers to run summer schools for young people in Asia.  Volunteers work in pairs to plan and run a 4 to 6 week summer school for young people in various rural Asian communities – such as India, Sri Lanka and Thailand.  Volunteers are given teaching packs and training before they depart.  During the summer school they run games, sports, music and art activities designed to entertain the children but also encourage them to learn spoken English.  Volunteers are given comprehensive back up and support while they are overseas. 3-6 month projects are also available.
