Title: Senior Account Executive
Reports to: Account Manager
Based at: London W6
Overview
A Senior Account Executive is polished and effective at delivering the PR basics and are directly involved in client planning, positioning and message development. SAE’s are responsible for completing a majority of tactical duties on assigned accounts and are beginning to lead the client and other team members. These responsibilities will vary based on client and team.
The Role
• Support senior associates on mutually assigned accounts, and assist in training and supervision of Account Coordinators and Account Executives.
• Understand PR goals, organizational structure and appropriate contacts of assigned client service accounts client.
• Manage and execute tactical programs and logistics with client and team on assigned accounts, including tours, interviews, announcements, events, and briefings.
• Assist managers on planning, message development and positioning.
• Act as a key contact and resource to editors and analysts for briefings, announcements and events.
• Write polished first drafts of specific written material: briefing books, project reports, releases, presentations, Q & As.
• Manage and prepare clients for on-strategy press and customer briefings.
• Create proactive and targeted pitch angles for features or news stories.
• Manage client database(s) with support of Account Coordination.
• Provide support for Communications Research projects and proactively analyze findings for team.
• Responsible for “real-time” literature review and tracking on assigned accounts to communicate key findings to team members.
• Demonstrate overview and understanding of client’s technology and its role in the overall marketplace
• Produce high-quality documents with correct format, basic grammar and spelling.
• Demonstrate proficiency in general computer skills as well as in Applied's core applications: Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office.
• Personally book a minimum of 20 Academy hours per year.
Skills:
• Keep abreast of market/competitor activities to identify and communicate plays with solid recommendations to AM/AD/Director on possible actions.
• Execute one competitive play per quarter.
• Be conversant on the differences between client’s and competitors’ technologies.
• Two to four years work experience relating to marketing and PR
• Well developed and honed skills in all tactical areas.
• Well-developed organisational, writing and analytical skills.
• Well-developed understanding of the news media.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated business judgment.
· A positive, friendly ‘can do’ attitude
· The ability to communicate confidently with clients, in meetings & on the phone
· Good level of media contacts
· Event management skills
· Ability to research and present information in a clear, concise and interesting manner to internal colleagues and all external clients
· Understanding of business in terms of how marketing, advertising and PR interlink
· Surface level understanding of Bite clients and how you can add value
· Writing skills: Press releases, case studies, feature writing, opinion articles
· Good time management skills and able to work to tight deadlines
· A conscientious eye for detail
· Confident and enthusiastic approach
· The ability to work across multiple accounts with different teams
