THE COMPANY AND SITUATION:

 

One of the country’s top Project Finance and Corporate Finance Consultancy practices (non-Big 4, but giving the Big 4 some genuine competition now!) requires individuals experienced in advising on the Financial aspects of PFI/PPP transactions in the Housing sector. Consequently, we are seeking someone from a financial or accountancy background as opposed to an engineering or quantity surveying background. “Housing sector” in the context of this role means Project Finance for housing, regeneration and property on a PFI/PPP basis.

 

They are recruiting at both Manager and Senior Manager level, hence the wide salary range. 

 

In the Senior Manager role, there is the additional responsibility of taking a more leading role in Business Development, generating new business opportunities, proposals, leading client meetings and negotiations, plus the autonomy to develop advisory and consulting services to meet perceived market needs.

 

THE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

The qualifications and experience required for these roles are as follows:

 

  • A good first degree
  • An Accountancy qualification
  • Previous experience in consulting on housing sector PFI/PPP projects
  • Thorough knowledge of housing, regeneration, property and project finance from a public or private sector perspective
  • Experience of development appraisals, preparation of business cases, risk assessment, fund raising and the negotiation of legal documentation for project implementation

 

The above is the basic requirement for Manager-level applicants. Please note that the above experience is essential – you require all of the above in order to be eligible to apply. The additional attributes required in order to be eligible for the Senior Manager position are as follows:

 

  • Previous experience in consulting on housing sector PFI/PPP projects for a consultancy, as the employee of a consulting firm
  • Thorough knowledge of housing, regeneration, property and project finance from a public AND private sector perspective
  • Experience of identifying potential markets and clients and then developing and implementing a “Go to Market” strategy for a consulting firm
  • Accomplished at report writing, particularly for developing outline business cases
  • Experience of working with senior/board level clients

 

 

THE ROLE:

 

There is a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities in this role, but in a nutshell, its overall purpose is to assist in the development of the housing and regeneration business within the Project Finance Group, identify and secure profitable assignments and take ownership of allocated assignments as well as taking responsibility for managing and developing staff.
