Study Club Volunteer

Purpose of the Role
Support young girls (11 to 15) in after school Study Club

Main Tasks
* Ask the girls what homework they have with them
* Help the girls to understand and complete their homework
* Set up educational activities
* Be a good role model in behaviour with children and members of staff
* Communicate effectively with members of staff
* Understand and practice effective discipline procedures and be responsible for the girls under their care for the day

Required Skills
* Patience and flexibility
* Good spoken and written English
* The ability to relate to children and communicate with staff effectively
* Sensitivity and broad understanding of learning difficulties
* Good understanding of team work effort
* A general understanding of the UK education system (is desirable)

Time Commitment
To pick one day a week from Tuesday to Friday, 3.45pm to 6pm, term time only (Summer Term: Sept 15 to Dec 05)

Training Provided
* Managing Youth
* All volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in personal and social development training

Other Information
As this role is in direct contact with our beneficiaries, we are only able to accept female volunteers.
