Want a worthwhile project to get involved with? Each summer volunteers from the UK go to Belarus, the country worst affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. We run a summer camp for children living in orphanages within the radiation zone, giving them three weeks in a clean area to help their immune systems recover, and a fantastic, fun experience to improve their quality of life. Our UK fundraising group helps volunteers raise the £400 sponsorship required to cover all costs of the trip, as well as money to buy medicines and equipment e.g. wheelchairs. In the past we have done this by running pub-crawls, music festivals and sponsored events, amongst other things. Bring your enthusiasm and ideas!
